On June 10th 2016, the Kolkata police received an unusual call from neighbors, complaining about smoke and foul smell coming from house no 3, Robinson street, what they found left them baffled and horrified. Upon entering, the authorities found a middle aged man, name Partha De sitting on a couch in the living room. The foul odor and smell led them to the bathroom. Where they found a half burned body of Arun De, Parth´s father. the body was lying in the bath tub, with an empty bottle of kerosene and a death note, lying next to the body. It was a clear case of suicide, but it was not enough for the surprise of investigators. The house was disorganized and flooded with disturbing stench.

The unusual stench lead them to another room, upon opening they encountered another nightmare. On the bed they found a human carcass, on one side of bed there were lying skeletons of 2 dogs, there was food in plates, as if it was brought occasionally to this room.  

Police immediately arrested Partha, to investigate regarding the skeleton found in the room. House no 3 Robinson Street was the home of De family. Arun De was known to be a respectful, and well off member of the community, retied from TATA steel, He was living with his son Partha De and daughter Debjani De. Partha competed his education and went abroad, where he was pursuing his profession and living a normal life. His sister Debjani was a school teacher, who used to teach music in the local school. During 2011, Partha returned to India, knowing the deteriorating condition of his mother Mrs Arun De. Unfortunately Mrs Arun passed away. It is said that following her mother´s death the family turned extremely superstitious, believing that magic or some sort of demonic force has affected their family. Debjani also started spiritual practices, isolating herself from the world.

Debjani believed in extreme fasting, and spiritual awakening, and soon, her brother Partha became her only connection to reality. Their relationship grew increasingly obsessive.” There were two more individuals present in the house, Debjani´s two pet dogs, and she was strongly attached with them. ,

While Debjani was upset following her mother’s death, her pet dogs passed away. Debjani started performing starvation ritual to bring these dogs back to life. According to reports, Debjani starved herself to death in December 2014

But instead of preforming cremation or informing the police, Partha refused to accept her death. He continued to talk to her, play music for her, and even feed her body—believing she would return to life.”

“Partha was not just grieving… he was trapped in his own twisted world. He even kept the skeletons of two pet dogs, refusing to bury them. The house had become a graveyard of the living and the dead.”

But there´s confusion regarding the recent suicide of Arun De that let police to uncover these horrors. Had he realized what his son had been doing? Was this an act of escape, or was he too drawn into the darkness?”

“Psychologists who studied Partha’s case suggested, that he was suffering from severe depression, schizophrenia, or delusional disorder. He lived in complete isolation, lost in his obsession with his dead sister. His diaries, found later, contained disturbing entries—speaking of voices, unseen forces, and an unbreakable bond with Debjani.”

“Partha was mentally unstable. His deep grief, combined with religious beliefs and isolation, led him to disconnect from reality. In his mind, his sister was never dead.”
“After the shocking discovery, Partha De was sent for psychiatric treatment. He was eventually released and lived alone in a small apartment. But on February 21, 2017, Partha was found dead in his bathroom, having taken his own life. His demons had finally consumed him.”
